Heneghan Peng faces big-hitting firms in Co-op HQ competition

Irish practice Heneghan Peng has been named on the shortlist alongside three commercial big-hitters in the competition to masterplan the Co-Operative Group's existing headquarters site in Manchester. Heneghan Peng is joined by giants BDP, Arup and KPF in the battle to revamp the 8ha city-centre plot, dubbed the Northern Gateway.

The site between Hanover Street, Redfern Street and Federation Street is currently home to around 3,000 of the Co-op's staff, and the group is looking to redevelop the area and move to a new headquarters.
