Trim’s OPW headquarters gets planners’ go-ahead

The Meath Chronicle

The Office of Public Works, which is to bring 350 decentralised jobs to Trim, has been given the green light from planners for its landmark headquarters. The four-storey, circular building and civic plaza will be the focal point of the new town centre development on lands to the rear of Trim Swimming Pool. While the Commissioner of Public Works has been granted planning permission for the OPW headquarters, Trim Town Council has sought further information on the application by Shaston Contracting Limited for the remainder of the town centre development, which includes a supermarket, retail units, offices and apartments on the lands at Townspark South, Trim. The OPW headquarters extends to just over 4,000sq m and includes office space, a cultural/exhibition space, staff canteen and landscaped roof terrace at third-floor level. A four-storey multi-storey car park is also included in the plans.
