Dublin City Council is examining the possibility of linking the Irish Museum of Modern Art (Imma) in Kilmainham, south of the Liffey, to the National Museum on the northside with a pedestrian walkway and new street. The plan involves the construction of a new vehicular bridge across the Liffey to divert all traffic from the west to Coyningham Road. From there, traffic would run down Parkgate Street and Benburb Street, behind the Croppies Acre in front of the National Museum at Collins Barracks. Dublin City planner Dick Gleeson said the council was carrying out a feasibility study.
