Artists share their vision of architecture

Sligo Weekender

The exhibition ‘Imagined – Visions of Architecture’ opened last month at The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon. It focuses on architecture and the built environment - from how we engage with it, to how we imagine it or want it to be. The exhibition takes in civic, domestic and institutional architecture and represents a part of the venue’s attempts to use life and architecture as an interesting jumping-off point into art; to meet new possibilities, to consider, to criticise and to imagine. The work presented by poet Alice Lyons, artist Ciarán Walsh, the fourth year construction studies class of Carrick Community School, artist Djeribi and architect Dominic Stevens, and painter Paul Chidester will definitely provide food for thought for all who take the time to wander around the exhibition.
