Soaring skyscraper to tower over city

The Irish Independent

A skyscraper which will tower over the Dublin skyline, received the green light from the planning authorities yesterday. The 32-storey building, almost three times the height of Liberty Hall, will be part of a 8.5 acre development beside Heuston station. An Bord Pleanala granted permission for the development yesterday, ignoring advice from its own inspector to omit the skyscraper from plans. At its highest point of 140m, the building will tower over the Spire on O'Connell Street and have a striking impact on the cityscape at one of the gateways to the capital.
