Demolition, replacement of office block on Green planned

The Irish Times

Dublin city planners are to decide early in the new year whether to allow the demolition of Canada House, an indifferent office building at the junction of St Stephen's Green South and Earlsfort Terrace in Dublin 2. A company led by businessman Denis O'Brien which owns the six-storey over basement building dating from 1972 has sought planning permission to replace it with a bigger block, nine storeys in height. There are also plans to provide two basement floors with 41 car-parking spaces.
