Objections pose threat to O'Brien tower

The Sunday Business Post

Dublin City Council has received more than 25 objections to a 26-storey tower planned for Donnybrook village by a consortium headed by entrepreneur Denis O'Brien. Local residents have until Wednesday to lodge objections to the planning application for the tower by Partenay, a company controlled by O'Brien. If approved, the glazed cylindrical tower would be built between Donnybrook Garda station and the fire station. The base of the building would contain a car park and commercial businesses, while the remainder would have 44 apartments for short and long-term letting. The tower has been designed by de Blacam & Meagher Architects in Dublin, which worked on a number of other O'Brien-backed developments.
