Georgian glory on O'Connell St

The Irish Independent

One of Ireland's most important Georgian townhouses and the last remaining Georgian building at 42 O'Connell St is to be restored to its former glory and offered as a corporate headquarters or for other office use. The four-storey, over-basement, red-brick house will be connected with a glazed link through a restored garden to another historic building to the rear of the same site, the grand, top-lit O'Connell Hall that fronts onto Moore Lane. O'Connell Hall will also be completely restored and redeveloped into an office complex with the addition of a glass mezzanine and three extra floors of contemporary accommodation encased over the Victorian hall.
