Dead Joyce house is open to the public
A stained glass fanlight has yet to be mounted over the original Georgian door at 15 Usher's Island in Dublin, the house in James Joyce's short story The Dead, but visitors this week can view the original bricks restored to their former glory. The historic building will be officially unveiled by Taoiseach Bertie Ahern tomorrow as a key Joycean landmark for the Bloomsday centenary celebrations, which run until September.
