Prestigious heritage homes dropped from tax-break list
Lissadell House in Sligo and Gigginstown House in Mullingar, Co Westmeath, which is owned by Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary, are among four houses removed in the past year from the list of historical homes that qualify for tax relief. Owners of historical homes and gardens are allowed to write off costs related to repair, maintenance or restoration on condition that the houses are open to the public for between 40 and 60 days a year.
