An archaeological website which would include reports of excavations being carried out is set to be established by the Department of the Environment. The website, which has been agreed in principle by the department, would provide information to the public on items found in excavations for access by the public. A vast array of ancient graves and burial grounds, as well as pottery and housing remains, has been discovered in recent years, uncovered by those involved in the construction of new roads and housing estates.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the original story which was a working link at the time of publication may be no longer available on the newspaper site.
