Cullen moves to save stately homes

The Irish Independent

Environment Minister Martin Cullen yesterday moved to set up a National Trust to protect the nation's remaining stately homes and heritage properties. The minister is to appoint consultants to draw up plans for a National Trust structure for acquiring and managing great Irish houses. The study will also establish if tax incentives or other incentives are needed to help the work of the new national trust.
