Dublin'S €5m Spire was officially illuminated last night. City dwellers will be able to touch the long-awaited landmark after its inauguration on Monday and can even "hug it if they want", joked project engineer Michael O'Neill. A silver rocket-shaped time capsule the size of two shoe boxes is to be encased in concrete under the steel structure for 200-250 years to mark the event.
