A market square deal
Far from being the end of Molly Malone's old stomping ground, Dublin council's plans offer a new lease of life for the markets area, reclaiming it for the public. Some of Dublin city council's critics claim that its new plan for the north inner-city markets area will finish off Molly Malone, the fishmonger, once and for all. But the council insists it's in the business of resuscitation, "reclaiming a part of the city that's been dead and unknown," according to Jim Barrett, city architect.
