Next Thursday night, architects from around the world will gather on Berlin's Museumsinsel (museum island) for an open-air party beneath the colonnades of the Old National Gallery. The outstanding ensemble of buildings on the island, which is listed as a world cultural heritage site, will be the setting for the highlight of the triennial congress of the Union Internationale des Architectes (UIA) — an awards ceremony in which Irish architects will feature for the first time.
