'Stop-gap' pier planned for airport next year
A temporary pier for low-cost airlines is to be built at Dublin Airport in time for next year's tourist season on the agreement of Transport Minister Seamus Brennan and Aer Rianta. The `stop gap' pier at Dublin airport will cost up to €3 million, and is aimed at boosting next year's visitor figures until a permanent pier costing €70 million is completed in 2004. The permanent pier will be a two-story building located north of the former central terminal building.
