Temple Bar is turning into a load of rubbish

The Irish Times

The lights have gone out all over the Curved Street in Temple Bar. For nearly 18 months, the twinkling blue dots of this stringy carpet in the sky suspended between Arthouse and the Music Centre had enthralled visitors to our flat. The 300 bulbs are still there, but somebody has obviously pulled the plug. There was a time when everyone was wowed by the impact of the Curved Street and the bold, contemporary architecture of its two white buildings. Visiting groups of architects and urban designers were quite mesmerised by it, just as they were by Meeting House Square and Temple Bar Square, the area's other set-pieces. There are fewer architectural tourists these days.
