Paving the way for city revamp

The Irish Times

Negotiations with Dorset Street traders over footpath paving works have delayed the progress of a major rejuvenation plan for the area. The project, which received initial funding of 9 million under the National Development Plan, was recently unveiled by the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern. It involves a revamp of the corridor from Drumcondra to Capel Street encompassing the Royal Canal, Mountjoy Square, Summerhill, Ballybough, Hardwicke Street and Dominick Street, with the aim of attracting investment into these areas.
