Breaking the mould is always important - and that is certainly what O'Mahony Pike Architects (OMP) and their clients are doing with Cedar Brook, a mixed housing scheme of 374 units on a 10-acre site at the Cherry Orchard end of Ballyfermot. What makes this scheme unique is that it's a joint venture by developers and a local authority to provide both private and affordable housing and that the innovative design proves that much higher densities can be achieved without sacrificing quality.
