The Euro 2m Urban Institute Ireland, being developed as a 'powerhouse of new ideas to improve the quality of the urban working and living environment' was announced by An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern T.D., who inaugurated the project by laying its foundation stone at University College Dublin, Richview, Clonskeagh, Dublin. The new institute will provide facilities for postgraduate research and study in all aspects of urban life. The two-storey, 834 sq m institute building will be constructed by Townlink Construction Limited beside the existing Architecture Library and is due for completion by September this year.
