The central banking hall at 2 College Green, Dublin 2 will undergo refurbishment to accommodate extra staff and increased customer activity, if a planning application by the Bank of Ireland is successful. The additional staff will come from the 18th-century landmark Bank of Ireland building, number 34 College Green , which is on the market with a guide price of €19.05 million. While the proposed works to the central hall are relatively minor, the planning application demonstrates the intricacies of operating from a protected building.
