The first phase of Dublin's Metro - the most ambitious rail project ever undertaken in this country - is expected to get the green light at today's Cabinet meeting. The project, aimed at linking Dublin airport with the city centre and the city centre with Blanchardstown, is expected to cost about euro3bn. Part of the route will be underground, and it will link up with the Luas network.
