Designer Ireland No 105: Busaras mosaics
Busaras is one of the few internationally significant Irish buildings of the 20th century. Designed by a team led by the swashbuckling Michael Scott, its significance consists largely in its conception as a total work of art with the interior decoration, fittings and furniture all designed in Scott's office. The integration of structure, decoration and fittings has been severely compromised in recent years due to the replacement of the original benches and kiosks with shabby velour seating.
