£3.5m new look for Limerick

The Irish Independent

Limerick city centre is to get a £3.5m facelift which will take five years to complete. It will involve part of the main thoroughfare, O'Connell Street, being pedestrianised between William Street and Roches Street. A monument at the junction of Bedford Row and Thomas Street, will mark the point of the heart of the city centre. Limerick Corporation held a competition to come up with a plan and the entry for English landscape architects, Nicholas de Jong and Associates was selected.
