A modern Irish classic hits the world stage

The Sunday Times

The career of Michael Scott (1905-1989), father of modern architecture in Ireland, began with the Abbey theatre. In 1929 Sean O'Casey asked him to play Barry Bagnal in the London production of The Silver Tassie. Scott, who had toured America with the Abbey Players the previous year, turned him down: while touring and acting in America, he also studied hospital planning along the way.
