Libeskind creates £50m Irish pier
One of the world's most radical architects has designed a £50m development, including a museum, hotel and shops, for a derelict pier in Dun Laoghaire. Daniel Libeskind, best known for the striking zigzag thunderbolt design of Berlin's Jewish Museum, presented his plans to the Dun Laoghaire Harbour Company in June. The Polish-born architect has been commissioned by a consortium hoping to win a contract to redevelop Carlisle pier.
