Corporation unveils £60m plan for city estate

The Irish Independent

Dublin Corporation has unveiled its ambitious £60m plans for the redevelopment of one of the capital's blackspot estates - St Michael's in Inchicore. Under the massive plans, all 346 existing flats will be demolished and will be replaced with some 320 new units of houses, duplexes and apartments ranging from two to nine storeys in height. The redevelopment is being split into three phases to be completed by 2002, 2004 and 2006 and it is designed around high quality safe open space, overlooked by housing.
