St Patrick Centre is a fitting monument

The Irish Independent

The newly launched £6.3m St Patrick Visitor Centre in Downpatrick, Co Down has set a notable exhibition design headline. The centre - which emerges from the base of Cathedral Hill - has been designed by leading architectural firm Consarc. As a Millennium Project, emphasis has been put on a design that will be both striking and fitting for its purpose. Apart from the St Patrick exhibition, there is a terrace restaurant, an internet cafe, multimedia theatre, gift shop and temporary exhibition space enabling the building to be put to a wide range of uses. The building will also house the town's tourism information centre, and the BBC regional broadcast studio.
