O'Connell St is set for a Ł40m facelift as the integrated area plan (IAP) for our premier shopping street really begins to take shape next year. Work on the Carlton Group development planned for the former cinema site is expected to commence early to mid next year. Meantime, Dublin Corporation improvements to Parnell Square, the Garden of Remembrance, Cathedral St and Marlborough St will be undertaken next year, together with a new pedestrian bridge across the Liffey between Hawkins St and Marlborough St.
