Trim Castle restored to more than its former glory
Trim Castle, covering approximately 1.75 hectares, the late 12th century castle - the largest such structure in Ireland will be officially reopened this week after an extensive restoration programme which has taken five years and £3 million to complete provided by European structural funding. A rediscovered great hall and its undercroft, the site of a harbour and an intact medieval laneway are among the features of the newly reopened Trim Castle in Co Meath.
