Artist to Contest General Election: I'll Fight Spike

A Dublin artist is to contest the next general election on the platform of preventing the Millenium 'Spike' from being erected on O'Connell Street. Mr Michael O Nuallain (72) a retired Department of Education art inspector, is so appalled at the winning entry in the international competition that he has decided to put himself forward as a candidate in the next election to oppose it.
