New Guinness terms on Farmleigh furniture

The Sunday Business Post

A protracted debate between the Office of Public Works (OPW) and the Guinness family over the terms of the sale of the Farmleigh mansion was resolved last week. OPW architect David Byers, who is overseeing the conversion of Farmleigh into a state guesthouse, has claimed that the Guinness family have removed two thirds of the contents despite an "understanding" that the bulk of the items would remain on semi-permanent loan to the state. The Iveagh Trustees have disputed this claim as "nonsense".
