Developers will try again with hotel, shops plan

The Irish Independent

Residents of a south Dublin suburb are celebrating An Bord Pleanala's decision to turn down a massive multi-million pound development. Developers have been refused permission for a mixed use development on the 23 acre site at the former Pye Lands Centre in Dundrum which was to have included the demolition of existing buildings. But a spokesperson for Alice Developments told the Irish Independent the company plans on making a fresh planning application for the site 'as soon as it's feasible', taking into consideration the views raised by the board. An Bord Pleanala rejected the proposed development on the grounds that it would be 'contrary to the proper planning and development of the area'.
