Landmark ruling turns down skyscrapers plan
All plans for skyscrapers in the capital have been thrown into doubt following a landmark Bord Pleanala ruling. The planning board yesterday shot down the giant glass skyscraper plan for George's Quay opposite the Customs House at Dublin's southside quays. In a precedent setting decision, the board rejected the controversial proposal to build transparent glass tower offices and apartments soaring 240ft in 24 storeys.
