The Dublin Docklands Development Authority (DDDA) is exceeding its statutory brief, an angry developer claimed last week. Richard Barrett, director of Treasury Holdings, has claimed the DDDA is not content to be a planning authority, as its brief dictates, but wants to get involved in the development process and even seeks shares of the projects it is supervising. An irate Mr Barrett has accused DDDA chairman, Lar Bradshaw, of being 'wildly unhappy if anyone else is allowed to play in the Docklands'. Treasury Holdings is seeking to build an office, hotel, apartment and conference centre development at Spencer Dock, in partnership with businessman Harry Crosbie and CIÉ.
