Dublin tenant ends action

The Irish Times

An Bord Pleanála's decision yesterday to order an environmental impact assessment into the £368 million regeneration scheme for Ballymun led to the striking out in the High Court of judicial review proceedings which had been taken by a tenant, Mr Robert Guillemot. Mr Michael O'Donnell, counsel for Mr Guillemot, told Mr Justice Quirke that the challenge to the proposed Ballymun redevelopment had been brought on the basis that an environmental impact assessment was necessary and had not been carried out as part of the planning permission. Mr O'Donnell said that as a result of a decision outside the court the legal proceedings had been resolved and could be struck out.
