The main public area is the large three storey, wedge plan atrium that bisects the building. Intended as a public space for exhibitions / launches, it is a dramatic top lit space with various vantage points. The cantilevered staircase, and walkways between the two office areas acts as a visual end to the atrium, as beyound this it runs into the canteen area. The lift shaft towards the rear has opague glass panels.

The heavy beams crossing the atrium serve two purposes: they carry various services across the divide; and they help to break down the sunlight to reduce solar gain.
