Architecture of Poolbeg

Standing on ninety acres of land, a large portion of which was reclaimed from the sea, the powerstations and immediate area takes its name from the Poolbeg Lighthouse which has provided an essential service to ships sailing in and out of Dublin Bay for 200 years. The lighthouse is named after the little pool or poolbeg which was one of the deep anchorages of the harbour at Dublin.
