Patrick Scott (born 1921) was born in Cork and came to Dublin to study Architecture at University College Dublin. After graduation he joined Michael Scott where he remained for fifteen years. He was made a partner by Michael Scott in 1959 after the formation of Michael Scott and Associates. A year after graduating as an architect he had a one man show at the White Stag Gallery. Always more interested in painting he left in 1960 when he discovered that he could support himself from it alone. He is still listed as an Associate of the firm Scott Tallon Walker. He was a member of the White Stag Group with whom he exhibited with as early as 1941, and a member of the Irish Living Art Group. In addition to painting and architecture, he worked as a designer producing a corporate identity and colour schemes for CIE. He also designed a series of carpets for Kilkenny Design Workshops - the semi state body set up to foster and encourage industrial design in Ireland. He is still active as a painter.
